Hello Podrones World!

Great companies start because the founders want to change the world... not make a fast buck.

There is evidence that our childhood memories never go away, but remain buried in our psyche and can resurface when triggered. Some memories are so vivid that they aren't even buried! One of my more vivid memories were fantasies (I am sure not uncommon), of taps in the house that would gush chocolate or my favorite drinks, with just a turn of the spigot! And of course, like many other kids, I dreamt of secret tunnels through which my friends and I would send each other comics and other fun stuff – out of sight of parents, of course!

And so, these childhood ideas and fantasies may have led me to the solutions that we are implementing today. Our vision is of a world where the physical delivery of goods is not a stumbling block for your needs or wants. You order goods online, and they are delivered to you or to a convenient location. They may even be made right where you are through the wonders of 3D printing.

eCommerce is turning the world of retail upside down. Although it is still a smaller segment than brick-and-mortar shopping, its unprecedented growth is changing the equation for everybody.

However, some other pieces of the picture are lagging the overall growth of this industry. Logistics, in particular last-mile logistics, is still a bottleneck. Not only is it unorganized, it is in desperate need of well-thought out systems, and above all it is in need of technology interventions.

We envision a world where the movement of goods is not constrained by infrastructure, individual schedules, traffic jams or other factors. How? By using Pods (see pictures below) and Drones. Hence the name. Want to receive a book from a friend, or send something to a friend? Done. Need to leave keys for a family member? Simple. However, there is much, much more that we are planning. Subscribe to this blog and visit often to hear about the interesting initiatives being launched as well as our plans for the future.

Our world is changing – sometimes faster than we expect and faster than we may want it to.
